Offered for a NO RESERVE auction is an exceptioanl unmarked version of the Regulator #2. The teak case is exceptionally refinished in 14 layered matte. Dial is clean as a whistle. This is the later improved version that features the weight running down the center of the clock, instead of the more familiar side-weight models. The case is 37" and, to repeat myself, in great condition, cleaned, sanded and professionally polished to a really pleasant finish. The weight alone weighs over 4 kgs! The brass 8-day time only rectangular movement is unsigned but totally correct to this model and keeps great time. This movement is pictured in Tran's Seth Thomas Book. It has been carefully cleaned out in petrol and checked for accuracy over a 30 day period. The clock is in reasonably new condition for its 1980s vintage. Both top and bottom door glasses are original to the clock. The cast weight is a lead-filled brass cannister and is lacquered after being given a real bright shine. Comes with a replacement brass key specially cast to fit this beauty. The winding key also locks the cabinet door!!! Thanks for looking at this fine clock and good luck bidding. Also, be sure to check out the other fine clocks we have listed this week! |
