This brand new violin started its journey five years ago when the mountain grown Indian
partalwood was placed in a controlled storage room to be naturally aged. Like
the Italians 300 years ago, these violins are made from select aged woods and made the
old fashion way - by hand.
Indian made violins and violas are coming into their own and can be found in most music
stores in Europe and America, for three good reasons: quality materials, quality
workmanship, and exceptional value. Most European violins already use India ebony pegs,
tail, and chin-rests. This one comes with the best ebony work in the category. Most violins
have a black painted peg box, the "Master Performer" violin peg boxes are hand finished,
stained and varnished with care.
The front is made of indian partalwood, the back is made of himalayan spruce. It is a nice
first purchase, both for fun players and students who wish to learn the violin. But let us
also be realistic and remind buyers that this is definitely not a Stradivarus for professional
players. Good acoustics but not phenomenal. It is an economical teacher-approved
purchase for the best features that can be offered for this low factory price. Great to gift,
great to learn, good to play for music lovers and wonderful to give to a child along with a
Chopin CD!
